We have all been there. You are driving down the road and the person in the car next to you is talking on their cell phone. They are animated, moving their arms around not really paying any attention to what is happening in front of them. What crosses your mind? Man, that is an accident waiting to happen!
I have to admit I use to be one of those people. I do not have an extremely long drive to work everyday, but it is long enough and it is all expressway driving which is easy to take for granted sometimes when you are not as alert as you should be.
I like to talk to my wife and kids on my phone. I spend a lot of time away from home, and it is nice to catch up. Most of the time that time is spent in the car. So, at my wifes advice, I purchased a bluetooth headset. Not thinking it would make that much of a difference, I kind of just did it because I knew it would ease her mind.
I could not believe the difference it made. I am not sure how I got along without it. Yes, there are times where I am walking through the grocery store talking to my wife on the headset and people look at me funny because they do not see it (they are very small), but it does not bother me!
If you have a young driver in the family or know someone who is going to have a drivers license soon, you need to get them a bluetooth headset. The clarity is very good and you do not have to spend a tremendous amount of money on them to get one that will work for you.
The headset is a great idea for anyone who drives and talks. Look at it this way….it is better to spend $40 on a headset than to end up in the hospital! Drive safe out there and give a headset some serious thought.
